Madalina Grigoriu

Coach and Resident Professional Player

FCRC is excited to have Madalina Grigoriu as a coach and resident professional player.  Madalina began her tennis career in Romania. Her junior achievements led her to Play Division 1 college tennis in the United States, where she helped the University of Louisiana Monroe secure its first ever Sun Belt Championship in Women's Tennis as well as its first NCAA Tournament berth. Upon graduation, Madalina briefly became a professional tennis player before transitioning into an auditing career with Deloitte. However, in the Summer of 2023, Madalina was introduced to pickleball and was immediately hooked. Within a month of training, Madalina won a DUPR 16 and DUPR 18 Minor League Pickleball event in Naples, and the rest is history. Since then, Madalina has risen through the ranks of both the APP and PPA circuits, where she is currently ranked #13 and #34 in the world in Women's Pro Singles. Madalina is also ranked in the top 100 in the world in both Women's Pro Doubles and Mixed Pro Doubles.

Now, Madalina is invested full-time into pickleball and can often be found training on court with Yohann or jumping into some open play with the FCRC members. Madalina is renowned in the pickleball world for her intelligence and strength as well as for her positioning and decision-making. Madalina is keenly aware of what shot to hit at the right time to put herself and her partner in the best position to win every point.
Madalina is married to her husband, Elliot, who is a local environmental attorney. When she is not on court (which is rare), Madalina is spending time with her husband, playing video games, watching Korean dramas on Netflix, or shopping at golf apparel stores for her next tournament outf
